Established to offer meaningful vocational training for young adults, the Sri Lanka-German Training Institute (SLGTI) in Kilinochchi is providing training programmes which are demand- driven and cater to the needs of the labour market, in accordance with the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) framework.

D. H. Udana Eranda

Deputy Principal

Mr. D. H. Udana Eranda studied at the University of Sabaragamuwa and earned his Bachelor’s special degree in Food Science and Technology. Mr. Eranda has more than eight years of private sector experience in the Research and Technical Management, Production and Quality Management in the areas of Food Processing, Polymer and Plastics processing and Construction Technology.

Initially he was appointed as the Head of Food Technology Department and had ensured a smooth operation whilst supervising six lecturers, two instructors and two lab assistants. In 2017, he obtained his IRCA Certified ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, Lead Auditor Qualification. Mr. Eranda is presently on two year’s permanent leave for further studies in Malaysia.

A. B. Alfred

Registrar

Mr. A. B. Alfred was appointed as Registrar to the Sri Lanka German Training Institute in March 2018. He oversees human resource management, recruitment, staff training and development at SLGTI. He supports the Director /Principal in ensuring that SLGTI attracts the right staff with the desired profile and passion for its teaching positions, while ensuring that the staff is professionally capable in their duties.

Mr. Alfred has 15 years of experience in human resources, having held positions as District Manager, Deputy Principal – Industrial Relations (covering), Registrar, Director /Principal (covering) between 2008 and 2023. He also works as an Assessor for TVEC in the field of Mechatronics and Telecommunication Technology (NVQ Levels 5 and 6). Mr. Alfred graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering from the Open University of Sri Lanka. He is an Associate Member of IESL.
