This November the first English students from the University of Mainz in Germany arrived at the SLGTI to start cooperating with the local English teachers.

A festival of sports and cultural activities called ‘Young and Diverse 2016’ was organized for the third time by the GIZ (VTN) Project in cooperation with the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training.
This September more than six hundred students in vocational training in the North and East of Sri Lanka participated in seven English Days implemented in training centres that are supported by the GIZ VTN Project.

The Sri Lanka German Training Institute (SLGTI) in Kilinochchi declared open by the President H.E. Maithripala Sirisena with the distinguished participation of the German Ambassador H. E Dr Jürgen Morhard, other diplomats, ministers and members of Parliament including the Opposition Leader R. Sambandan.
The Press conference attended by Hon Mahinda Samarasinghe, Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training and HE Dr. Juergen Morhard, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
A Vocational Training study tour to well-established large Training Institutes with modern equipment in a foreign country in the South Asian region, Indonesia, was organized by the VTN Project in collaboration with the GOPA Worldwide Consulting Company.
